Owner of Knight and Day Communications, Wendy Knight has run her NYC Public Relations firm since 1992. This year the firm decided to strategically re-brand themselves to appeal to the specific clientele that had been their focus over the years.
Wendy Knight, attractive, assertive and extremely well connected. Did we mention bright and a real go-getter? When Wendy decided to re-brand her Public Relations firm this year, Dayzign was the lucky one to design her company image.
Beginning with the logo, Wendy knew exactly how she wanted to position her brand to reach her market: a lifestyle publicist for Food & Drink, Arts & Literature, and Style. She also knew her clients: sophisticated, educated and cultured, and how to tie them emotionally to her brand.
The client knows her market best
“I want my website to be warm and inviting, like walking into a familiar room”. So that’s exactly what we did. Dayzign created a simple logo to Wendy’s taste, and then created a website that clearly captured her specialty and reflected the tastes of the viewers she wanted to attract.
A collage style header with clickable photos made the site warm and inviting
Dayzign created an inviting collage of a living room for the header of Wendy’s site. Viewers can click on a bottle of wine for Food & Drink, a painting for Arts & Lit, and a coat and hat for Style. A warm fireplace with an armchair sets the stage.
Function AND Fashion
As with all of our work, this site had to be much more than a pretty picture. Each of Wendy’s pages are fed by blog posts where she adds video, podcasts, online articles and other “hits” she lands for clients. The format works beautifully for her, as pages are all automatically updated when she writes a new post. And most importantly, the design clearly reflects her brand, and emotionally connects to her potential viewers.
“I love working with Kellie!” Says Wendy. “She is incredibly creative and talented. We have terrific brainstorming sessions: she listens to my ideas and vision and offers her own astute thoughts on how to achieve what want. I’ve worked with Kellie on an e-newsletter, logo and website. Each time she creates a final product I’m THRILLED with. I will always seek out Kellie for my design needs and enthusiastically recommend my friends and colleagues to do the same.”
Wow, what a compliment! We feel the same – please check out Wendy’s website if you’re in need of a great publicist.
